In our class we paired up to make stop motion videos -something much harder to make than it appears. My partner, Megan, and I chose to make ours on Volcano eruptions as we thought it was a fun idea and a good process to be explained through video. We wrote up a script on the volcanic process and then created the video for it. We chose a middle school class, specifically a sixth grade class as our audience.
-6th Grade Georgia Standard Addressed:
S6E5. Students will investigate the scientific view of how the earth's surface is formed.
F. Explain the effects of physical processes (plate tectonics, erosion, deposition, volcanic eruption, gravity) on geological features including oceans (composition, currents, and tides)
I think our project turned out a lot better than we expected. Yes, it needed to be zoomed in a little more but it still gets the idea across nicely and neatly. We had some issues with audio as our music disappeared and once we fixed the music, our voice-over disappeared. However with the audio working I think the lesson matches the images very well. The lesson comes across in an organized fashion and is easy to understand. The props are neat and creative as well. I think the project went overall well.
